Past Project / Activities

WALK FOR SIGHT (WFS) IS LIONS CLUB OF GEORGETOWN PERDANA’S (LCGP) signature project. LCGP has undertook this project for the past consecutive 2 years with great roaring success. This project was jointly organised by Lions Club of Georgetown Perdana and Region 1 Leo Clubs to raise fund in the revamp of the Home’s Deaf/Blind Multi Handicapped Programme and also to carry out the Early Intervention Programme in the prevention of blindness. Proceeds went  to St. Nicholas Home Penang.

On April 11, 2010 WFS saw more than 2000 participants from all races and walks of life coming together for a good cause. This blind-folded charity walk was flagged-off at Padang Polo by the Honorable Penang State Governor, accompanied by YB Lydia Ong of the Penang Exco Youth and Sports and Penang Chief Police Dato’ Wira Ayob Bin Haji Yaakob, Pengarah Majlis Sukan Negeri Pulau Pinang Tuan Haji Akbar Bin Haji Mustapha and Lion Dignitaries. The 3.9 kilometer walk was lead by THE SAINT XAVIER’S MARCHING BAND. It was certainly a much fun-filled walk with the sighted being blind folded and lead by the visually impaired and vice versa. LCGP is certainly proud of this achievement and we thanked each and everyone who is directly or indirectly involved in this significant project.
